Simmo's weekend started perfectly taking quickest times in practice, only to have mechanical dramas during qualifying. With only 3 laps completed in qualifying 6th place on the grid was a super effort. Race 1 only ran 4 laps without the safety car, Simmo still managed to make his way up to 2nd place. Race three started in the rain, the weather was difficult to pick so there were people on all setups for the start. Simmo got a away brilliantly in the slippery conditions and lead the 40 car field down the start straight. But it wasn't to be, One axel deciding to give up before turn one. Race 3 was again dry, Simmo drove from the rear of the grid to 13th place in the shortened (6 laps) race. Even after the dramas the Team still managed to finish 12th outright for the weekend, not a bad effort considering. |
