Simon's weekend didn't start as well as hoped, quick times in practice were'nt repeated in Qualifying. The team made some setup changes to the car before race one, Simon drove from 27th to 10th in just 8 laps for the chequered flag. With a good car Simon's confidence showed in race 2, climbing into 3rd place and challenging for the lead at one point, a small mistake saw Simon fall back to 5th place at the end of the race. Race 3 was another impressive drive from Simon, holding position to finish 5th again. Chasing a little more lap speed the team made a move in the wrong direction for car setup in race 4, a strong 8th place finish capped off a brilliant result for Simon and the Aussiefast team. The overall result was 8th, the best overall result this year in the championship. A win in the masters boosts Simon's chance in taking out the Masters championship. Simon will be chasing a better result in the nest round at Oran Park Sydney on the 12-14 Ausgust. "We have found great car speed, we hope to start we're we left off in qld, that will put us right up the front for some great racing" Simon says. |
